  1. Help: Show data stored in text files                               17.03.93
  2. The files of the network parameters, data of controlled
  3. connections, groups and pulsars and the logfile are shown
  4. as pure ASCII text files. Net-Control only shows
  5. a headline with a description of the presented data.

  8. ≤The logfile:≥
  9. If the uppermost indicated message of a shown logfile belongs
  10. to an alarm, for which hitlists were copied you can switch by
  11. <Enter> directly to these hitlists.

  14. ≤Switching between the files:≥
  15. The directory structure laid out by Net-Control has one file
  16. for each filetype and each day. Through the selection procedure:
  17.   - choose the file type in the menu,
  18.   - enter the month and
  19.   - choose the day
  20. you can grab quickly the data of a certain day.

  22. Net-Control offers however beside this menudriven selection
  23. also the possibility to switch directly between files of different
  24. days and the same type or files of different types and the same day.
  25. The corresponding commands are only accessible during the listing of
  26. a file. A help for these <Alt>-commands is accessible through <F2>.

  28. If no file of the desired type and day exists, Net-Control indicates
  29. this and remains in the just listed file.

  31. If still no search command was given, the new files are opened at
  32. top. If you want to compare directly the data of a certain point in
  33. time you can achieve this by giving a search command. Enter the
  34. corresponding point in time in the current file by the ⌠S⌡earch-command.
  35. (Usually you doint know the seconds - so enter only ⌠hh:mm:⌡).
  36. If you shift through a <Alt>-command in an other file other type,
  37. Net-Control searches automatically that point in time and you can
  38. compare the data directly. To switch off the direct search you have
  39. to give an empty search command (by ⌠S⌡earch and then ⌠<F8>⌡).
